Sagarmatha (Mt Everest) – Gokyo trekking trail walks through the hometown of legendary Sherpas reaching the base of the highest peak in the world: Mt Everest in the east and the Gokyo Lake and Peak in the north. It is one of the most scenic trekking trails in the world filled with heart touching and brave stories of the Everest climbers & the quest of spiritual awakening of the Buddhist Masters.

The major ethnic groups living in this region are Sherpa, Rai, Tamang, Limbu. The treks begins at lowland Khas speaking communities and ends in Tibetan Buddhist highland where the Sherpas are renowned for their enterprise, hard work, civic responsibility and devotion to the practice of Buddhism. Dumji and Manirimdhu (Maniriddum) are the name of the most important Buddhist festivals of the region.  

Rugged mountains and glacial river valleys are rich with diverse range of wildlife and vegetation. Animals to be sighted are mountain goat, musk deer, and barking deer in the forest. Everest National Park, UNESCO heritage Site (1979),  is habitat to 118 species of birds. Common among them are Impeyan Pheasant, Blood Pheasant, Red billed cough etc. And home to rare species of wildlife such as Mush Deer, Himalayan Brown Bear, Snow Leopard, Red Panda, Himalayan Pika, Wild Yak & more.

Shortest itinerary is Khumjung Valley trek – 7 days, and the longest trek is 27 days including Three Passes.
