The trek is aimed for Tamang cultural experience for those who are interested in ethnic cultures. The path walks through beautiful Tamang-Tibetan villages having stop over at four culturally rich and naturally beautiful landscape. Among them first village that welcomes the trekkers is Gatlang. The village offers some exquisite home-stay at a local house.
There is a Tamang cultural museum which provide some insights about the Tamang people and their history. The local perform culture show on request. The other place of interest is Hot spring.
Though the water looks rusty, it is good enough to take a bath for health. The other interesting village is Nagathali at the top of the valley which looks over the Tibetan plateau and has side views of the mountains. The village is rich in nature and in terms of lodge facilities. The oldest settlement Thumman has a monastery that one can have a look at the interior engravings and paintings.
Briddim is a beautiful village situated inside Langtang Valley in Rasuwa District. This Z shaped village is at the altitude of 2229m provides fascinating view of the Langtang Range with warm welcome of the Tamang community. The Tamangs are the major ethnic group dominating this village and have close affinity with Tibetan culture.
Forty-three households will welcome you with their Himalayan smiles. It is a model village sensitive to ecological and cultural matters. If you feel like tasting this Himalayan exotica you will need at least 7 days and remember it takes two days to get there and two to get back to Kathmandu.
